Rick Ross just released ‘Port of Miami 2,’ the sequel to his 2006 debut studio album. In addition to the Drake-assisted “Gold Roses,” the project features “Maybach Music VI,” which Ross wanted to release with features from longtime rivals Lil Wayne and Pusha-T, although ultimately the album was released without a verse from Pusha. On the latest episode of ‘For The Record,’ which was taped in July, Ross sat down with Genius’ Head of Artist Relations Rob Markman to explain why he wanted to bring together Wayne and Pusha, share how the late Nipsey Hussle inspired “Gold Roses,” and open up about the significance of each album in his discography.
